Valley Market
Your Community Grocery Co-op
Valley Market is a food co-op currently forming in Staunton, VA. It is our vision to open a cooperatively run, retail grocery store-front in the Staunton area. Some of our accomplishments to date are:

2006
- First co-op meeting held in May with 35 attendees
- Steering Committee formed in June to move the co-op idea forward
- Filed with the State Corporation Commission in August
- First board elected and first set of bylaws adopted in November
- Awarded matching grant of $9,000 from Food Co-op 500 in November
- $12,990 in membership contributions and matching grants by year's end

2007
- Steering Committee transformed into the Core Group in April
- First annual membership meeting and potluck dinner in June with 43 attendees
- Professional market survey performed in September to determine the potential food co-op market
- Received very favorable market survey results in October
- 74 members at years end

2008
- This website launched in January
- Spring FREE movie series running from February to May
- Music sponsorship at Queen City Brewing
